A muscly convict has landed himself in hot water after photos of him posing in his cell were illegally shared on social media next to expensive bodybuilding supplements.

The incident took place at Chelm prison in the city of the same name in the eastern Polish region of Lublin Voivodeship, and was shared online by a female associate of the prisoner identified as ‘Mrs. O’.

In the snaps, the unnamed convict is seen flexing his muscles in a cell that boasts a makeshift punch bag, exercising equipment, and expensive protein powders and supplements.

Mrs. O accompanied the images with gushing comments such as “my one and only” and “my brave warrior” while referring to the correctional facility as “corrupt”.

Prison Director Artur Gajewki told local media: “We know about the situation and an investigation is underway.”

Meanwhile, prison spokesman Lukasz Bielak said: “Prisoners are not allowed mobile phones and internet access is only available in designated areas, not in their cells.

“Additionally, internet access is limited and activity on social media is strictly forbidden.”

Prison official Edyta Radczuk explained that the supplements and protein powders seen in the cell are allowed if the prison director agrees to it.

As they are food supplements and not drugs, the items do not require a doctor’s consent.

The investigation is ongoing.
