A desperate mum has launched a social media campaign to find her young daughter’s pet chicken after it was reportedly stolen by “bad people”.

The Argentine mum, identified as Vivi, launched the online campaign after her daughter Josefina had her pet chicken stolen in the village of San Benito in the north-eastern Argentine province of Entre Rios.

In the photos, young Josefina is seen sharing tender moments with her pet chicken as she cradles it affectionately while smiling at the camera.

Another picture shows the young girl seemingly playing a game with the chicken in the garden.

The mum shared the snaps in the hope that someone will come forwards with information regarding the missing pet.

Vivi accompanied the photos with the message: “I honestly do not see the joke here. Several people laughed when I told them they stole my chicken.”

Far from finding the situation funny, Vivi went on to say: “That chicken was my daughter’s pet. Nobody shared her picture or anything.

“Josefina misses her terribly and constantly asks for her little chicken. I already told her that bad people took her.”

It is unclear if the chicken has been returned to Josefina yet.
