A former stripper who had 22 babies by her billionaire husband has told of her devastation at his jailing for a series of drug offences.

Christiana Ozturk’s tycoon husband Galip Ozturk was sentenced to eight years behind bars by a court in Batumi, Georgia on 27th February.

His jailing comes after police investigating alleged business fraud and money laundering found cocaine and other drugs at the family home.

Ozturk still faces a second trial on money laundering charges.

Russian-born Christina, 25, spent nearly GBP 150,000 (EUR 168,000) on surrogate births between March 2020 and July 2021.

And their childcare bill alone for 16 live-in nannies stands at nearly GBP 80,000 (EUR 90,000) a year.

Ozturk fled his native Turkey in 2018 after an appeal court upheld his conviction for ordering the murder of a rival in the transport business.

He escaped to Georgia, where he quickly became the fifth largest investor in the country with interests in hotels, casinos, schools and hospitals.

Among his ventures was a shopping mall deal with Derkan Baser, wanted by Interpol on a red notice for organising online gambling that had a turnover of EUR 5 billion.

In 2021, he and his wife Cristina revealed how they blew a fortune on surrogate mothers to amass a huge family.

At one point Christina said she wanted to have 105 children.

But Ozturk’s fortunes changed again when he was arrested last May and held in custody until yesterday’s sentencing.

Georgian Prosecutor General’s Office said in a statement obtained by Newsflash on Monday, 27th February: During the trial, the evidence examined by the prosecutor’s office confirmed that the defendant illegally purchased and kept a large amount of psychotropic substances and also, especially, a large amount of narcotic drugs – 7.2159 grammes of cocaine (salt), which the law enforcement officers removed from his residence. “

During the raid on his family home police found seven grams of cocaine.

Following her husband’s arrest, Cristina admitted she to finding life “hard” taking care of her huge family.

She said: “The feeling of loneliness does not ever leave me, even with such a large number of close people around me.

“Now it is more difficult than ever, I can’t stand the silence, I can’t stand his absence, I can’t sleep, and I wake up all alone.”

The young mum added: “I can’t see his empty workplace… I can’t see his smile, I can’t hear his voice, I can’t feel his embrace.”

When news of the sentence was announced this week, Ozturk’s lawyer Robert Grigalashvili called the charges “made up”.

He said they would appeal all the way to the European Court of human rights.
