The body of a missing five-year-old boy has been found and the authorities suspect that he was killed by his mum and her partner to get back at the boy’s biological dad.

The incident took place in the municipality of Juchitepec in the central Mexican state of Mexico when the victim’s mother reported that he had gone missing on 7th December.

The mum – who has not been named – claimed that five-year-old Cesar Martinez Mendoza ran out of the house at around 7 am and was not seen again, according to local media.

The following day, a group of local residents conducted a search for the missing youngster after an appeal was posted on social media by family members.

At around 4 am on 11th December, the local authorities reportedly found the boy’s dead body partially buried at the bottom of a cliff next to a tree.

A preliminary investigation determined that the boy was killed by his mother and her partner to get back at the boy’s biological father – not named -, although further details of the alleged dispute were not given.

The two suspects have not been named and it is unclear whether they have been placed under arrest yet.

The investigation into the boy’s death is ongoing.
