This is the tragic tot dropped and killed by her mum in the bathroom just one year after the baby’s two-year-old brother drowned.

The incident took place in the village of Arpadere in the district of Gumushacikoy in the northern Turkish province of Amasya when the mother, identified as Fatma Y., was washing her 25-day-old baby and accidentally dropped her.

Reports said that the infant was rushed to the Gumushacikoy State Hospital where it was confirmed the girl was in a life-threatening condition.

The baby was transferred to the children’s emergency department of the Amasya Sabuncuoglu Serafetting State Hospital and admitted to intensive care with internal bleeding injuries, according to local media.

As the tot was not responding well to treatment, she was again transferred. This time, she was sent to the Ondokuz Mayis University Medicine Faculty Hospital in Samsun.

However, despite the doctors’ best efforts, the 25-day-old could not be saved.

According to local media, during the investigation the police discovered that Fatma Y. lost a two-year-old son a year ago.

Her young son reportedly drowned in a village trough while his mum was distracted.

It is unclear whether the baby’s death is being investigated.
