This is the moment a woman and her daughter are hit by a car travelling at high speed in front of her son as they run across a zebra crossing.

The incident happened in the village of Kanevskaya Stanitsa Kanevskoy District of Krasnodar Krai in southern Russia and left the woman and daughter hospitalised.

In the video, a woman, who has not been named but is a school teacher, can be seen walking across a zebra crossing with her two children.

The boy appears to spot a car approaching and runs across to the other side and his mum tries to the same with his sister.

However, the driver of the speeding car does not stop and the vehicle slams straight into the pair sending them flying.

The boy turns around to see his family members being hit by the car and an onlooker then runs and points the youngster to safety.

Local media report the mother was taken to intensive care in a very serious condition on a ventilator.

Doctors are deciding whether or not she needs to be transported to the regional medical centre by helicopter because of her unstable condition.

The girl has a complex hip fracture and the boy is said to be in a state of shock.

It is unclear if the police are investigating the incident.
