Double killer Suzane von Richthofen, 39, will serve the remainder of her 39.5-year sentence outside of jail as an open prisoner, judicial authorities ruled on 11th January.

Von Richthofen was jailed after she, her boyfriend Daniel Cravinhos, and his brother Cristian were found guilty of the brutal murder of her parents.

The notorious case was later turned into the films ‘The Girl Who Killed Her Parents’ and ‘The Boy Who Killed My Parents’.

Marisia and Manfred von Richthofen were beaten to death in their bed with iron bars after she turned off the burglar alarm and let the brothers into the house.

Ironically, Marisia pleaded for the brothers not to harm her children while von Richthofen – then aged 18 – listened to the slaughter from downstairs.

Von Richthofen is now studying biopharmaceutics at a private college in Taubate.

The slaying of her parents took place on 31st October 2002 after months of planning.

Days before the crime, she had disabled the burglar alarm and the surveillance cameras in the family mansion.

After checking her parents were asleep, von Richthofen opened the door to Daniel and Cristian – then aged 21 and 26 – who had been waiting outside.

The brothers went upstairs to the parents’ bedroom, where they battered them around the head with iron bars.

Manfred died instantly, while Marisia woke up and tried to defend herself with her hands.

As she begged the men not to harm her children, Cristian pressed down on her with a towel, breaking her neck.

As the brothers brutally dispatched the couple, von Richthofen calmly waited in the living room downstairs.

After both were dead, the three perpetrators staged a break-in and fled.

Von Richthofen returned with her brother Andreas – aged 15 at the time – early the next morning after he had spent the night at Daniel’s home.

She then called police after ‘discovering’ the crime scene.

However, she and her accomplices later found themselves being seized as suspects after investigators found the staged break-in “amateur”.

Officers were then baffled by her amorous behaviour with her boyfriend Daniel, at the police station.

Von Richthofen later confessed to her role in the crime, with her motive remaining contested to this day.

Some say she did it because her parents disapproved of her relationship with Daniel, who was unemployed and smoked cannabis every day.

Others, however, believe she committed the crime to inherit her multi-millionaire parents’ wealth.

The crime became notorious in Brazil thanks to von Richthofen’s good looks and her upper-middle-class background.

Psychological tests ruled she was egocentric and had narcissistic personality disorder.

Von Richthofen is claimed to be a distant relative of the German World War I flying ace Manfred von Richthofen, better known as the Red Baron.
