MORTAR TERROR: Civilians Injured As Russians Bombard Demo With Mortars And Grenades Claim

This shocking footage purports to show Russian forces dispersing protesters in an occupied Ukrainian city with mortar bombs and grenades.

Newsflash obtained the footage from Energoatom, the National Nuclear Energy Generating Company of Ukraine, on Saturday, 2nd April.

Energoatom said: “Another scary video from Energodar.

“The occupiers dispersed the protesters with explosions and shootings. B*stards.”

Ukrainian media outlets reported that Russian “invaders” dispersed residents who had gathered to protest the occupation of their city with mortar bombs and grenades.

The rally took place near the Sovremennik cultural centre, in the city of Enerhodar, located in Ukraine’s south-eastern Zaporizhzhia Oblast (province), on Saturday morning.

Enerhodar is the Latin transliteration of the Ukrainian (and official) spelling of the city’s name, whereas Energodar is the Latin transliteration of its Russian name.

Russian is the predominant language in large cities in eastern and southern Ukraine, even among ethnic Ukrainians.

Enerhodar is currently under Russian occupation, with Russian troops having taken the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, located in the city, on 4th March, and the city council a day later.

The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe.

According to local reports, the rally was peaceful and saw protesters singing the Ukrainian national anthem in defiance of the Russian occupiers.

However, still according to local reports, when the protesters began to disperse of their own accord, police vans arrived and began to round up the protesters.

Just minutes later, heavy shelling, allegedly with mortar bombs, began and explosions, reportedly from grenades, were heard, setting off car sirens and causing the protesters to scarper.

Four were reportedly wounded.

Local media also reported that the Russian occupiers jammed communications in the city, making Internet access and phone calls all but impossible.
