The traffic camera video dated 6th September shows the electric moped rider without a helmet driving in a vehicle path and heading towards the boom gate where a number of other cars are also queuing.

In the footage, the woman appears to place her feet on the road in a bid to brake the moped, but she fails to stop and slams head first into the horizontal bar, which knocks her entire body backwards.

Social media users have suggested her vision may have been impeded by her sunglasses.

Netizen ‘ALE Li’ wrote on Weibo, China’s equivalent to Twitter: “Don’t wear sunglasses if you don’t have good vision.”

‘Charlie Yuen’ added: “You can see she’s trying to brake with her feet, but maybe she didn’t know she was supposed to let go of the throttle too?”
