This is the moving moment a young girl runs into her nurse mum’s arms and hugs her tight after not seeing her for over a month due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Deborah Vazquez Negron works as a nurse at a hospital in the municipality of Bayamon in northern Puerto Rico, an unincorporated territory of the United States.

She had not seen her daughter Alondra Michelle Rivera Vazquez for over a month while battling the virus on the frontlines, and her husband Christian Rivera Agosto shared a video of the touching moment they were reunited.

Rivera Agosto’s clip has been viewed 300,000 times on Facebook and shared by 30,000 netizens.

The father explained that Deborah is isolating away from their daughter while treating COVID-19 patients at the hospital.

He also said that little Alondra did not know she was going to see her mum that day as he made her believe that she was filming a message asking for citizens to stay indoors to prevent the spread of the virus.

In the footage, the girl is seen sprinting to her mum and the pair enjoy a cuddle in the street.

The mother says: “I love you my love, I love you very much. I need you.”

Christian told local media: “She was always with her daughter before. Now she can only have contact through the phone.

“Our daughter tells me every night that she wants to hug her mum. This has been the hardest part.”
