Moment Woman Throws Her Newborn Baby Out Of Window Of Moving Coach

This is the moment a woman throws her newborn baby onto a main road from the window of a moving coach after giving birth in her seat.

The incident took place in the Brazilian municipality of Panambi in the early hours of 30th June.

Police chief Gustavo Fleury, who is investigating the case, said the woman gave birth on the coach itself before placing her newborn inside a bag and throwing it out of the window.

Bloodstains were found in the bathroom and on a seat in the coach, which was travelling from the city of Porto Alegre to the municipality of Sao Nicolau near the Argentine border.

The woman disembarked the coach before it arrived at its final destination.

It was 3.4 degrees centigrade (38.1 F) with a wind chill of -0.7 centigrade (30.7 F) when the baby was found on the cycle lane of the main thoroughfare.

According to the police, the baby was unclothed and spent an hour on the road before it was rescued alive and taken to hospital. Its current condition was not disclosed.

The woman suspected of carrying out the crime was tracked down and taken into preventive custody on the afternoon of 1st July.

Her name has not been divulged, but she is said to be a 21-year-old resident of the municipality of Dezesseis de Novembro.

The police said they saw CCTV footage of the young woman leaving the coach, washing her hands, checking the bloodstains on her clothes, and entering a shop to buy tampons.

She reportedly confessed to the crime during questioning, telling officers that she hid her pregnancy from her family, who did not know the baby’s father. This is believed to be the crime’s motive.

The investigation is ongoing.
