Moment Woman, 71, Falls Trying To Board Moving Train And Legs Are Hit By Carriage

This is the moment a 71-year-old woman slips on the platform while trying to board a moving train and her outstretched legs are hit by a carriage, spinning her on the ground.

The incident was filmed at the Vasai Road railway station on the Mumbai Suburban Railway network in the city of Mumbai in the Indian state of Maharashtra at around 5.30pm on 18th September.

The woman was saved by onlookers and officers of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) after falling on the platform, however, she suffered multiple fractures and is receiving medical care at a nearby hospital.

According to The Times of India, the woman was travelling with her husband from the city of Bhavnagar to Hyderabad when they stopped to have tea at the Vasai Road station.

However, when they noticed their train pulling away from the platform, they ran to get on board, but the elderly woman slipped and fell down the gap.

In the footage, the woman, wearing a green dress, is seen grabbing hold of the moving train’s handrails at an open carriage and slipping down the gap.

A carriage hits her outstretched legs and sends her spinning 180 degrees on the ground.

A man grabs her and tries to pull her free from the moving train, but the woman appears trapped and several onlookers run over to help.

The 71-year-old woman suffered multiple fractures in the incident and is currently being treated at a nearby hospital. There have been no further updates on her current condition.
