Moment Three Wise Men Washed Into Sea After Large Wave Capsizes Their Boat

This is the moment the Three Kings are washed into the sea after their boat is overturned by a large wave moments before they can land on a Spanish beach.

The incident took place in the town of Oropesa del Mar in the Valencian Community in Spain on 5th January, which is commemorated as the eve of Three Kings’ Day.

Melchior, Gaspar, and Balthazar were hoping to make a triumphant arrival on the sandy beach before an excited crowd of adults and children alike.

However, footage filmed by an onlooker shows how their plan was scuppered by the adverse weather, with the wind causing a wave their flimsy boat was no match for.

The Three Magi and another man who was apparently piloting the boat were washed into the chilly January sea when the large wave capsized their boat.

Despite getting a shock, the men heroically continued as if nothing had happened, even waving to the onlookers assembled on the beach as they picked themselves up.

The Three Wise Men were met with applause and cheers when they finally made it to the beach unaided, albeit a little wetter than they had expected.

According to local reports, the men were able to take part in the festivities planned for the rest of the day, which is widely commemorated in Spain.

Some of the most famous Epiphany celebrations in Spain take place in the Valencian Community, with parades representing the arrival of the Three Kings to town.

At the time of the incident, parts of the Valencian Community were being hit by strong winds.
