This is the moment a thief politely kisses the hand of the woman cashier he just robbed.

The robbery took place in a shop in the area of Benedito Bentes in the city of Maceio in the Brazilian state of state of Alagoas on the morning of 17th September.

According to the news site G1, two suspects were involved in the robbery and one has since been apprehended by the local police.

In the CCTV footage, one of the suspects was filmed kissing the hand of the cashier during the robbery.

The images were posted on the store’s Instagram page in an attempt to identify the two suspects.

Shortly afterwards, the police identified and arrested one suspected thief who appeared in the CCTV footage.

As well as the kissing incident, the CCTV images reportedly showed a suspect entering the store and talking to two workers, a male and female, before shoving the man while his hands were raised, according to reports.

His accomplice then followed the female worker to the cash register where she handed him the cash and he responded by kissing her hand.

Local media said no weapons were visible in the CCTV footage throughout the robbery.

The two suspects then fled the scene on foot, according to reports.

Police chief Leonam Pinheiro said: “In less than 30 minutes since we posted the video of the robbery, we carried out the arrest of a suspect who took part in the robbery with another criminal.”

The police chief vowed to “capture the second miscreant” as the investigation continues.
