Moment Surprised Russian Skiers Come Across Special Forces-Style Tripwire Grenade Tied To Tree In Snowy Forest

This is the moment surprised Russian skiers come across a special forces-style tripwire grenade tied to a tree in a snowy forest.

The incident took place in an unspecified forest in Yakutia, which is located in the Russian Far-East near the Arctic Ocean.

The footage shows a forested area covered in a thick layer of snow. The camera then pans left and a white wire can be made out leading to a tree which has a grenade tied to it.

The green device appears to be upside down, with the white wire attached to the pin to act as a tripwire. Tripwires are typically wires or string attached to a device that is triggered when the tripwire is interacted with.

If the skiers had not noticed the wire, and instead walk through it, the wire would have removed the pin from the grenade and unless the grenade was a fake or a dud, it would have exploded and could have seriously injured or killed the two skiers, who were not named in local media reports who

The skiers reportedly suggested that the grenade trap might have been set up by a local “protecting their land”.

The device is currently being analysed by law enforcement.

No suspects have been arrested at the time of writing and there has been no confirmation yet as to whether it was a live grenade or simply a dummy.
