This is the moment a hapless schoolboy cheats death when he is run over and trapped under a car while running across the road but escapes with only minor injuries after locals lift the vehicle off him.
The dramatic incident was captured on dashcam and by traffic cameras in the county of Taishun in Wenzhou City in China’s eastern Zhejiang Province.
The footage which’s the schoolboy’s friends darting across the busy road after school, running dangerously in front of passing cars.
The schoolboy and a friend run after them, but he is hit by the motorists who fails to slow down in time.
In the video, his friend is able to escape, but the pupil disappears under the front of the vehicle as the car is driven several more feet before stopping.
Shocked witnesses rush to the front of the car and dozens more are called to help, with the large crowd then gathering around the front of the vehicle before lifting its front wheels off the road.
The boy is lifted out from under the chassis in less than a minute and survived the accident with only minor injuries, Wenzhou police said.
According to the children’s teacher, the boys are often seen eating and doing their homework together after school.
They were roughly 50 metres (164 feet) from the nearest zebra crossing but decided to dash through moving traffic instead, their teacher said.
Wenzhou police did not say whether they had charged the motorist for crashing into the boy.
