This is the shocking moment a speeding drink-driver collides with another vehicle and his out-of-control car hits two mechanics and their client on the pavement, killing one outright.

The incident took place in the city of Burzaco in the Argentine province of Buenos Aires at around 6pm on 23rd October.

In the footage, a mechanic in a red top is seen walking towards a colleague working on a black SUV on the pavement with the vehicle’s owner.

The suspected drink-driver is then seen colliding with another vehicle before his Ford Fiesta is sent flying into the three men and the SUV with a sickening thud.

According to the news site Cronica, the mechanic in the red top, named as Hugo Gonzalez, 55, was hospitalised with a broken hip and is reported to be unlikely to walk again.

His colleague, named as Santos Agustin Aguirre, 54, was killed at the scene while working on the SUV with the owner, 55, name not reported, who suffered multiple injuries including a broken ankle, according to the media source Zonales.

The Ford Fiesta driver has been identified as Anibal Elustondo, 26, who suffered multiple injuries and was transferred to the Lucio Melendez Hospital.

A subsequent breathalyser test reportedly showed that the young man was over the alcohol limit and as a result has been charged with aggravated manslaughter, according to prosecutor Patricio Persico.

Eyewitnesses allegedly saw the suspect trying to discard beer cans from his car following the crash.

The local authorities said he has a history of being involved in other road accidents.

Melina Aguirre, the daughter of the deceased mechanic, accused the suspect of “zigzagging” among other cars before losing control of his vehicle at speed.

Aguirre’s family is calling for “justice to be carried out” and wants to see the suspect receive the maximum sentence because his father allegedly tried to pay a bribe to get his son off scot-free.
