This is the moment a stone that shot through the air like a bullet from a nearby dynamite explosion hits a passing security guard in the head.

The victim, Vedat Erdogan, 21, who later died from his injuries, had been working as a security guard at a factory in an industrial zone in the district of Sehitkamil in the south-eastern Turkish province of Gaziantep.

The incident in which he was struck the fatal blow took place while he was on duty on Thursday morning (23rd December).

The dynamite explosion was carried out during nearby construction work, and the blast reportedly sent pieces of rock flying through the air.

CCTV footage shows how the young security guard is walking alongside the factory building when, all of a sudden, he is hit by the flying rock and collapses instantly in a heap on the ground.

He was taken to hospital straight away, and doctors performed first interventions. However, despite the best efforts of the medical staff, the young man later succumbed to his injuries.
