This is the dramatic moment a narco boat crashes into the shore and knocks over a man before two suspected drug traffickers jump out and are grabbed with the help of beachgoers.
The incident was filmed at a beach in the municipality of Sorvilan in the southern Spanish province of Granada in Andalusia on Saturday afternoon.
Both suspects were arrested, one thanks to beachgoers, and 808 kilogrammes (1,781 lbs) of hashish was reportedly found on the boat.
According to Civil Guard’s Maritime Service, a patrol boat spotted a suspicious vessel off the coast of Granada and a chase ensued.
The suspects’ vessel then began to flee at high speed towards the popular beach.
Minutes later, to the surprise of beachgoers who were watching and filming the pursuit with their mobile phones, the boat deliberately ran aground on the shore and even knocked over a man.
As can be seen on the video, two suspects then jumped out of the boat and tried to escape.
But one suspect was cornered by beachgoers who managed to detain him until Civil Guard officers arrived on the scene.
The other man, seen fleeing in the footage, was reportedly arrested by cops close to the beach.
Local news site 20Minutos said 808 kilogrammes (1,781 lbs) of hashish divided into 25 packages was found in the boat.
The investigation continues into the source of the drugs, and to whom it was to be delivered.
