This is the bizarre moment a muddied naked woman walks along the street and asks several motorists for a lift before jumping into a burgundy SUV.

The incident was filmed in the city of Tomsk in the south-central Russian region of Tomsk Oblast by an onlooker and the footage was later widely circulated on the Russian social network VK.

In the footage, the naked blonde woman, who appears to be covered in mud from the waist down, is seen approaching a blue car before resting her hands on the bonnet and addressing the driver.

She opens the passenger door and the pair speaks for a while before she closes the door and moves on to the next car.

The second driver also refuses her request and she moves onto the driver of a burgundy SUV who did not hesitate to let the naked woman in.

The SUV is then seen speeding off down the road.

According to local media, the police became aware of the incident after the video was widely shared on social media.

Officers reportedly tracked down the unnamed woman, who was said to be a local resident, and arrested her.

It is unclear if she has been charged by the authorities yet. It is also unknown why she was walking around the streets naked.

The investigation continues.
