Moment Mountain Landslide Falls On Chinese Town And Kills 4 Traffic Cops

This is the moment a landslide suddenly falls on a road from a nearby mountain and reportedly kills four Chinese traffic cops.

The landslip was filmed in the town of Pucheng in Pu County in the Chinese province of Shanxi on 6th October after a period of heavy rain that was particularly severe the day before the tragic mudslide.

The landslip resulted in five people being buried under the earth and debris, according to local reports.

An overnight rescue operation took place and all five victims were found among the debris.

Four victims had lost their lives while the other was injured and taken to a nearby hospital. There have been no further updates on the unnamed person’s condition.

Local media said most of the victims were on-duty traffic cops without specifying how many.

Meanwhile, several areas saw over a metre of rain fall and three residential buildings with over 200 residents were affected.

Tourist areas such as the Shuanglin Temple Painted Sculpture Art Museum and Pingyao Ancient City Wall were closed during the heavy rain to protect artefacts and visitors’ safety.

In the footage, a large mass of earth is seen falling away from the cliff face and falling on the street below, apparently also affecting a block of flats and numerous parked cars.

The landslide mostly ends up in a river, sending waves rolling to the far side.
