This is the moment a Mexican YouTuber eats two whole chillies as part of a social media challenge and appears to nearly choke to death before being hospitalised.
Comedian and YouTuber Hugo Lara from the city of Merida in the Yucatan state in south-eastern Mexico ate the chillies and uploaded it to his account where it has received 476,000 views.
In the video, he can be seen eating two whole habanero chillies with his sister Yazmin, to his right, and another two unidentified women.
Shortly after eating the peppers the youngster begins choking, coughing heavily as his sister runs to grab a glass of water.
Lara then sits on the sofa and appears to be having difficulties breathing. The women pat him on the back and fan him as he continues coughing.
Local media report Lara had to be taken to hospital to be treated by doctors.
The popular YouTuber managed to recover and he told netizens on Facebook he is “feeling better”.

While ‘Angeles Duran’ wrote: “Nobody broadcasts these challenges live because they are edited, you lack experience.”
