This is the shocking moment a dog owner apparently frustrated at the fact that he has to take his dog for frequent walks as it has a weak bladder vents his frustration by giving it a savage beating.
The man in the video was identified as Stanislav Sveshnikov, 28, who was captured by CCTV cameras in front of a door for his building in the city of Saransk in the Russian Republic of Mordovia.
The exact date of the filming is unclear but the footage was first widely shared and reported by local sources on 3rd May.
The black-and-white video shows Sveshnikov arriving in front of the main door to his building with his dog named Nelson who runs around him eager to go back inside in the warm.
The 28-year-old however is unimpressed that the dog going in front of him, and appears to think about kicking the canine who starts barking when he sees the leg being raised.
But determined still to punish the dog, but without waking the neighbours, Sveshnikov apparently uses one hand to hold the dog’s mouth closed and the other to savagely beat him on the face, neck and body.
The man eventually stops and opens the door as the canine dashes through the opening when Sveshnikov appears to intentionally snag Nelson’s tail on the door shortly before the video ends.
Local media said the 28-year-old had owned the canine for nine years when the beating was recorded which was caused by his frustration with his dog’s urinary incontinence.
His wife Julia spoke up on behalf of her husband saying: “My husband is tired of our dog’s incontinence, and after this situation, he is quite ready to put the dog down.”
Her statement sparked even more outrage among animal activists in the dog was later confiscated.
According to the news portal “Stolica S” the dog is currently in good hands and found a temporary home among other dogs and cats, although he still shuns people.
Local sources said city activists took Nelson away from the married couple without explain how they did this, and are planning to contact the police to report the man for animal cruelty.
