This is the moment a knifeman threatens a female shop worker and drags her into a back room where he punches the struggling woman several times.

The incident was filmed in an off-licence in the city of Chihuahua in the north-western Mexican state of the same name on 16th January, and the local authorities have released the footage now to help identify the suspect.

In the footage, the suspect is seen walking around the shop counter to threaten the female worker with a blade.

He then drags the woman into a backroom where she is seen struggling with the aggressor, who punches her several times to force her into a small lockup before the footage ends.

The woman reportedly told the suspect to take all the cash and leave her unharmed. It is unclear if he did so.

Local media said the police are still trying to identify the suspect and have released the CCTV footage in the hope that someone comes forwards with information leading to his arrest.

Netizen ‘FerCamacho35503’ said: “Death penalty! Cut the evil at the root and prevent these incidents. If anyone knows who he is, show no compassion for him.”

‘FerDyakono’ commented: “He deserves the harshest punishment possible for taking matters into his own hands like that.”
