Moment Kind Cop Gives His Boots To A Barefoot Migrant Teenager

This is the touching moment a police officer gives his own boots to a barefoot 16-year-old boy who was walking across the country.

The video was filmed in the canton of Colta in the Ecuadorian province of Chimborazo on Monday 3rd May.

Ecuador National Police Sergeant Carlos Zula spotted a teen migrant named as Luis Alberto Espinos Suarez, 16, walking barefoot.

In an act of kindness, Carlos decided to gift his own pair of boots to help the young boy on the remainder of his long journey across the country as his aim is to reach Chile.

The video shows the sergeant taking off his boots and handing them to the 16-year-old sitting next to him on the ground.

Agent Carlos Zula stands next to the teen who laces the boots and jumps up. The two begin speaking as Carlos take down some of Luis’ information on his phone.

Carlos asks “And you are going to Chile?” The teen nods yes as he picks up his belongings shortly before the video ends.

A police spokesperson told the local press the 16-year-old was Colombia but gave no further details on him or on Sergeant Carlos Zula.

The spokesperson added Carlos is not interested in giving any interviews saying: “He did the act from his heart and not for media attention.”

Local media said Ecuador has seen countless migrants pass through their borders trying to reach Peru or Chile with most of the people crossing being Venezuelans escaping their country’s political and economic crisis.
