Moment Kazakhstan Lorry Transporting Pyrotechnics Turns Into Fireworks Show After Catching Fire

This is the moment a lorry in Kazakhstan that was transporting pyrotechnics turns into a firework display after catching fire.

The driver can be seen in the footage safely exiting the vehicle during the incident which took place on the Nur-Sultan-Shchuchinsk motorway in the Burabay region in central Kazakhstan.

The footage shows the driver, who has not been named, getting out of the cab of the lorry and putting on a jacket while sparks and smoke can be seen emanating from the trailer in the background.

As a result of the fire started on a truck loaded with fireworks, all the fireworks exploded and created a visual feast on the Nur Sultan-Shchuchinsk highway in Russia in December 2021. (Newsflash)

The motorway appears to be covered in a thick plume of smoke coming from the fireworks, which can be seen going off in the sky above the lorry.

The local Department of Emergency Situations is quoted in local media reports as saying: “There was a fire in a lorry loaded with pyrotechnics. The cab was not damaged as a result of the fire, but the semitrailer burnt out completely.”

No injuries were reported. It is currently unclear how the fire started and how much pyrotechnic materials the lorry was carrying at the time of the incident.
