This is the moment huge blocks of ice in a Russian river crash through the guardrail on an embankment and block access.

The incident was filmed in the city of Khabarovsk in the far-eastern Russian region of Khabarovsk Krai.

In the footage, the huge chunks of ice are seen piling on top of each other and pouring over the guardrail onto the embankment in front of stunned onlookers.

The river current continues to send the ice mass onto the embankment, crashing through the guardrail and its concrete supports.

Huge blocks of ice that formed in the Amur River and were being driven by the currents broke through a guardrail on the embankment and blocked access.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations announced that the scene has been cordoned off and officials are evaluating the damage.
