This dash-cam footage shows a tall tree suddenly collapsing onto the road at the split-second moment two cars pass as both are hit by the trunk and splintered debris.

The incident took place near the village of Yakshur-Bodya in the central-western Russian republic of Udmurtia and the video was later posted on social media.

In the dash-cam video, a white car is seen approaching the filming motorist as they drive along a straight road flanked by woodland on either side.

Just to the side of the road, one tree appears to fall against another which then collapses towards the passing vehicles.

Just as both vehicles cross paths, the tree hits the front of the white car and the unsuspecting driver appears unable to take evasive action.

Branches and debris are sent flying across the tarmac and onto the filming driver’s vehicle and the motorist then pulls over to the roadside.

According to local media, even though the incident appears serious in the footage, neither motorist was harmed by the felled tree, although both vehicles were badly damaged and required repair.

Netizen ‘Masha Kovalev’ said: “This is terrifying. That guy must have a guardian angel looking over him.”

‘Vladimir Malagov’ commented: “It looks so scary. I am amazed they survived such an accident.”
