This is the moment a giant brawl breaks out at an MMA tournament, with even spectators getting stuck in.

The brawl took place at the R3 Fighting Championship in the Russian capital, Moscow, on 26th June.

The argument started after the headline bout between welterweights Furkatbek Karimov of Uzbekistan and Magomed Abdukhalikov of Russia – one of the event’s 28 fights.

Footage shows how the incident begins as a heated exchange of words between two members of opposing teams.

The altercation gets physical when one of the men pushes a shorter man who squares up to him, with his opponent with whom he had just been arguing then throwing a punch.

All hell then breaks loose to the audible delight of the crowd members, who are seemingly happy to have got more than they paid for.

The fight continues with the team members getting stuck in and security guards trying in vain to keep them apart.

However, the guards’ battle seems to be a losing one, as a number of riled-up spectators then breach the octagon and get involved themselves, despite some being visibly scrawny compared to the professionals they had come to watch.

The brawl eventually subsided after the event’s organisers, security guards and even the police intervened.

Once the spectators had been removed from the octagon, the two men who had been arguing then incredibly decided to settle their conflict there and then, thus becoming unplanned participants in the tournament.

The fight lasted just a minute, with one of the men placing the other in a rear naked choke.

Twitter user ‘Grabaka_Hitman’ posted the footage to Twitter with the caption: “Chaos at R3 Fighting Championship in Moscow. No idea what’s going on, but these things happen in Russian MMA.

“If this was happening in any other country I’d say it was fake but nope, these dudes are actually fighting right now.”
