This is the moment four young pupils walking to school are hit by an out-of-control lorry that ploughs into them from behind.

The harrowing incident was captured by a CCTV camera in the town of Nalin, which is in Bobai County in China’s southern region of Guangxi, on 4th September.

The video shows a group of three schoolboys being followed by a girl, who is the first to be hit when the lorry speeds past her.

The schoolgirl is sent flying onto the road before the lorry mows down the three boys from behind, sending them flying out of frame.

Footage taken in the aftermath shows the silver light goods vehicle having careered off a bridge further ahead and landed in a shallow stream below.

The authorities said three of the injured schoolchildren, who all attend the same school, continue to be treated at a local hospital.

The fourth victim, one of the boys, sadly succumbed to his injuries. His name and age have not been made public.

The police have arrested the lorry driver, who is also currently unnamed, and he faces manslaughter charges.

However, it was still unclear at the time of writing what exactly caused the crash.
