This is the moment a fisherman screams in pain as his colleagues remove a hook that had lodged in his bum.
The video of the unlucky man, whose name and age were not reported, went viral on social media on Tuesday, 5th October.
It is unclear when or whereabouts in Brazil the incident took place. However, it was said to have happened when the man’s colleague swung his fishing rod and accidentally hooked him in the backside.
Footage of the aftermath of the incident shows the man lying on his front on the deck of the boat screaming in agony as two colleagues yank on the hook several times to try to remove it from his right buttock, which is partially exposed through a hole in his briefs.
After several unsuccessful attempts, they finally manage to dislodge the stubborn hook, and a spot of blood appears on the poor man’s bum marking where the hook had been.
The man’s friends are then heard suggesting they commemorate the successful removal of the hook by toasting with cachaca (a Brazilian distilled spirit similar to rum).
The removal attempt lasted for at least 40 seconds, according to the video. However, it is unclear if the clip started at the beginning of the attempt, meaning the man may have been in pain for even longer.
It is also unknown if the fisherman sought medical treatment after the incident.
