This is the moment firefighters use a hydraulic tool to free a frightened and crying young boy whose leg had become stuck in a supermarket trolley.

The incident took place in the city of Pu’er, which is located in Yunnan Province in south-western China, after the boy and his mother went shopping at an unnamed supermarket in Ning’er County on Monday, 17th January.

But the trip to the shops turned into a nightmare for the mother and her young child, neither named, after the boy’s leg became stuck in the shopping trolley.

The footage shows the young boy’s leg stuck to the side of one of the gaps intended for children to put their legs through when they are sitting in the shopping trolley.

It appears that the boy’s leg is firmly stuck in the narrow gap in the trolley, with there being no other option than to call the local fire brigade for help.

The footage shows the firefighters diligently trying to free the terrified young boy from the shopping trolley.

The youngster can be seen crying and visibly scared, despite being given a mobile phone to play on in a bid to distract him from what is going on around him.

One firefighter can be seen using a hydraulic tool to bend the trolley’s metal bars, while his colleague can be seen using a pair of bolt cutters on the top of the trolley.

The young boy was eventually freed, much to the relief of all those around.

It is not thought that the boy suffered any serious injury.
