This is the moment an escaped monkey runs at a screaming girl and attacks her as she films the scenes with her phone.
The incident was filmed by the unnamed girl on Mira Street in the city of Tolyatti in the south-western Russian region of Samara Oblast and was later widely shared on social media.
In the clip, the aggressive monkey is seen running at the girl as she screams in shock.
The girl screams to a pal: “Get it off me!”
According to reports, the monkey had escaped from a nearby flat and had been spotted in various parts of the city.
The animal bit the girl and chased several other people in the city that day, according to local media.
Civil Protection head Andrey Derbenev said the monkey was eventually captured and taken to a local veterinary clinic for checks.
Meanwhile, the local authorities are continuing to track down its owner.
It is still unclear how the monkey managed to escape and whether it was possibly transmitting any diseases.
The investigation is ongoing.
