Moment Dangerous Dogs Attack Woman On Street, Leaving Her In Hospital With Bandaged And Bloodied Legs

This is the moment two dangerous dogs attack a woman as she walks down the street, viciously biting at her legs and leaving her in hospital with heavily bandaged and bloodied limbs.

The incident took place in the town of Alexania in the Brazilian state of Goias on the morning of Saturday, 6th November.

Computer technician Ana Lucia Faria Freire, 35, was on her way to work when the pair of dogs ran over from the other side of the road and started to viciously nip away at her legs.

Following the traumatic experience, she told the news portal G1: “I kept still, thinking they would stop attacking me, but they didn’t. They bit and shook me. I started screaming for help and the dogs’ owner appeared and tried to take them away, but he wasn’t able to.”

CCTV footage of the incident shows how the dogs were not on leashes, nor were they wearing muzzles at the time of the attack.

Freire said that the attack only ended when a local resident opened their gate for her and she managed to enter, leaving the dogs behind. The residents at the property then took her to hospital.

As of yesterday (Sunday, 7th November), Freire remained in the Hospital Municipal de Alexania with a photo showing her heavily bandaged and bloodied legs following the unprovoked attack and with no date yet set for her discharge.

She revealed that, by chance, her clothing prevented her from even more serious injuries, telling G1: “It hurt a lot. Both legs were badly injured, the left mainly near the knee and the ankle. Due to the clothes I was wearing, it didn’t take out a chunk, but everything is bruised.”

She has since slammed the dogs’ owners as “irresponsible” and hopes they will be investigated by the police, adding: “It could have been a child and had it been, maybe they wouldn’t have survived.”

The dogs’ owners are due to be questioned by the police today (Monday, 8th November). They could be liable for the criminal charges of ‘culpable bodily injury’ and ‘failure to guard a ferocious animal’.
