This is the moment a hostage bursts into tears of relief after being rescued by cops from a basement dungeon where he had been held for four days.

The incident was filmed in the western Russian capital Moscow and the footage was later shared on social media here it has been viewed 175,000 times.

According to Russian media, 11 suspected members of a criminal gang who robbed from money carriers and kidnapped people for ransom have been arrested.

The victim seen being rescued in the video reportedly spent four days in a basement dungeon before being released on 26th March.

In the video, police are seen uncovering a floor entrance to what appears to be an adapted basement cell.

A young man is then helped out before bursting into tears when he realises he is being rescued.

According to reports, the victim initially refused to leave the basement with the cops because he was afraid.

Local media said that some of the 11 suspects have already admitted their guilt and told cops they locked people in basements for ransom money.

There have been no further updates on the rescued man’s condition and the police investigation is ongoing.
