This is the moment cops find several cheeky customers hiding in a cafe that should have been closed for the COVID-19 lockdown.

The video, filmed in Albania in the Balkan Peninsula, shows the moment cops arrive at the ‘closed’ cafe with a space left at the bottom of the shutter.

The officers walk around to the counter, where a heater is on to warm up the clients, and find one elderly man hiding underneath the coffee machine and another in the toilet.

Earlier, the woman reportedly claimed to the cops that there was no one in her cafe. It is unclear if anyone was fined or detained.

Netizen ‘Artur Halili’ commented: “Shame! They are risking the lives of others. They should be sent to prison.”

‘Selena Durres’ said: “You are risking your family’s lives, I don’t know how to make it any clearer.”

According to local media, the Albania police are carrying out regular checks to make sure citizens are respecting the lockdown measures in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The country has introduced a number of temporary laws which include a curfew from 6pm everyday as well as a ban on visiting public places and gathering in groups.

As of 26th March, Albania has reported 146 confirmed cases of CVID-19 and five related deaths, according to the latest data from the Johns Hopkins University.
