This is the moment a bungling motorist sends a hapless binman flying after ploughing into the poor dustman as he does his rounds.

The incident happened in the Buca district of Izmir province in Turkey and was recorded by a CCTV camera.

In the video, a rubbish truck can be seen coming to a halt and binman Murat Akcay jumps off the back of the vehicle and goes to walk towards a bin on the pavement.

A white car then speeds into the shot and crashes into Akcay, sending him flying up onto the bonnet before slamming him into the back of a parked minibus.

One of Akcay’s colleagues walk over as he appears to be crushed between the two vehicles and the passenger in the car, who has not been identified, runs around to check on the driver.

Local media report an ambulance was called and Akcay was taken to Buca Seyfi Demirsoy State Hospital. 

His condition is described as stable, no other injuries were reported in the incident and police have launched an investigation. The extent of his injuries is unclear.

The driver has not been named and the investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been reported in local media.
