This is the moment a sobbing boy begs for his cop dad to not leave the house on duty while screaming “there is coronavirus outside”.
The video was shared on Facebook by netizen ‘Goraksh Kharad Patil’ who works for the police in the western Indian state of Maharashtra, where it has been viewed 285,000 times and shared by 10,000 netizens.
In the footage, the young boy is seen begging his dad, wearing a police uniform, to not go to work while repeatedly screaming: “There is coronavirus outside.”
Meanwhile, the cop consoles his son by saying he will only be gone a short while.
Facebook user ‘Alkesh Vaishnav’ commented: “I salute your hard work.”
Netizen ‘Vishwas Potphode’ wrote: “We thank all our police departments and health care providers during this time.”
Earlier this week, a three-week lockdown was imposed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to curb the spread of the deadly COVID-19.
As of 27th March, India has reported 775 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 20 related deaths, according to the latest data from the Johns Hopkins University.
Meanwhile, 71 people have made full recoveries.
