Moment Angry Japanese Woman Tries To Douse Olympic Torch With Water Pistol

This is the moment an angry Olympic protester tries to extinguish the Olympic torch with a water pistol ahead of the Tokyo Games this month.

The 53-year-old woman, named as Kayoko Takahashi, was reportedly arrested after the final runner of a relay made his way around Senba Park in the Japanese city of Mito and headed for the finish line on 4th July.

Takahashi, an unemployed woman from the prefectural city of Hitachi, was arrested for forcible obstruction of business after firing liquid at the Olympic torch from a water pistol.

The police said the woman admitted to the offence and confirmed that she wanted to protest the staging of the Olympics in Tokyo later this month.

At the scene, the angry woman reportedly shouted slogans such as “no Olympics” and “stop the Games” before shooting her water pistol at the 77-year-old runner carrying the Olympic torch.

The police said that the torch relay was obstructed by the woman’s actions and she was arrested at the scene.
