Moment Angler Attacked By Tornado That Appears Right Where His Line Is Plonked In Water And Takes Off With Parasol

This is the moment an angler is ‘attacked’ by a small tornado that appears right where his line is dropped in the water and takes off with his parasol.

The incident took place in the city of Huzhou, which is located in northern China’s Zhejiang province.

In the footage, the fisherman, who has not been named, can be seen leaping from his chair as the tornado forms in front of him, and just after he jumps out of the way, it picks up his parasol and takes it off into the sky.

The man can be seen looking off-camera, presumably towards where the tornado took his parasol, as the footage ends.

It is currently unclear if the fisherman managed to retrieve his parasol.

The miniature tornado appears to have been a water devil, which is the name given to dust devils – very small whirlwinds taking place on land – when they are taking place on the surface of a body of water. They are technically vortexes that occur when there are temperature changes in the atmosphere.

The city of Huzhou is located on the southern shore of Lake Tai, which is one of the largest freshwater lakes in the country, with only the city of Shanghai between the large body of water and the Pacific Ocean.
