Moment 2 Thieves Beat And Tie Up Female Shop Owner In Brazil

This is the moment two thieves violently restrain a woman shop owner and tie her up in a backroom as they plunder the goods and take off in her car.

The incident was filmed at a swimwear shop in the city of Cuiaba in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso on 17th July.

The victim, named as Juliana Ribeiro, 28, was locked in the storeroom with her hands tied and her mouth covered with tape. She managed to bang on a wall and ask a neighbour for help.

The two thieves reportedly took BRL 5,000 (GBP 698) worth of swimwear goods after failing to make the shop owner carry out a bank transfer.

They also took the victim’s car and a stereo, according to the news site G1.

While tied and taped, Juliana Ribeiro told G1 that she banged on a wall and asked a neighbour for help.

The victim said she always leaves the shop door locked and usually only attends women. However, one of the criminals arrived outside and claimed he wanted to buy a bikini for his wife so she let him in.

She added: “I thought they were going to kill me because I wouldn’t do the bank transfer. I was terrified, scared. Despite the trauma that’s still with me, I’m fine now.”

The businesswoman said she had injuries to her chin and arms, but did not need medical attention.

So far, only the victim’s car has been recovered.

The police said the suspects in the robbery have yet to be tracked down.
