The manager of a modelling agency has been sentenced to five years in jail for secretly filming at least 129 aspiring models naked in his studio.
The defendant, Daniel Lucia, had previously been crowned ‘Mister Navarra’, and he ran the Dana Models agency in the city of Pamplona, the capital of the northern Spanish community of Navarra.
According to the news channel Telecinco, Lucia was denounced by 129 aspiring models, 48 of whom were minors.
The court heard how he set up a secret camera to record the girls naked without their consent after asking them to change outfits.
The defendant reportedly confessed that he suffers from sex addiction and admitted himself to a religious facility to treat the condition.
One of the women he recorded was model Sofia Suescun, who won the Spanish Big Brother and TV show Survivors.
During an interview, she said: “When I was 14 he filmed me and touched me.
“With me, he committed other types of crimes which were much more serious than filming images.
“I am very angry, justice has not been done, it deserved a much greater penalty.”
Lucia faced over 400 years in jail for the combined charges but was given 115 years by the court of which he will serve only five.
In addition to the prison sentence, he was ordered to pay EUR 3,000 (GBP 2,649) to each of the minors, EUR 4,000 (GBP 3,531) compensation for seven girls for who it was a continuing crime, and EUR 3,000 (GBP 2,649) to two other minors for the crime against sexual freedom.
