A staff member can be seen attempting to unlock a fire extinguisher to use on the power bank when it suddenly explodes with a loud bang, frightening the passengers in the station.

The blast also appears to send part of the to portable battery flying back into the train car via the open doors.

As the video ends, a passenger can be seen kicking the fiery device back out the train onto the platform.

The fire was eventually doused and no injuries were reported after the incident.

However, it is still unclear who the device belongs to or whether it was in use when it caught fire.

“We were evacuating the train at the time. It had caught fire in the car and a staff member moved it onto the platform.

“He put it out with a fire extinguisher.”

The make and model of the power bank have not been reported,
