This is the moment an angry mob rains down kicks on the bloodied body and head of a thief suspected of robbing bus passengers at gunpoint.

The incident occurred as the bus was driving on the Mexico – Texcoco road in the municipality of Los Reyes La Paz, in the Mexican state of Mexico.

According to police reports, the alleged thief had got onto the bus with a gun and begun stealing the passengers’ mobile phones, handbags and wallets.

Reports state the bus driver then alerted some nearby police officers who managed to catch the suspect, whose name has not been reported.

However, the enraged passengers then ran off the bus and began beating the thief, saying they want to carry out their own justice, according to reports.

In the video, the suspected thief can be seen lying on the ground bleeding heavily from his face.

An angry mob can be seen surrounding him and they take turns forcefully kicking his head.

After receiving several powerful kicks to the head the man gets to his feet but struggles to keep his balance and drops back to the ground.

A man then kicks his backside before letting him gingerly stand up again.

A police officer can then be seen grabbing the man and sitting him on the pavement. Local media report the suspect was arrested but is unclear if he was charged.
