Missing Schoolgirl Found Buried In Uncles Sealed Well

The dead body of this missing 15-year-old girl has been found in a recently-sealed well at her uncle’s house with signs of strangulation.

Schoolgirl Priscila Martinez was last seen leaving her home in Los Lagos in the city of La Banda in the northern Argentine province of Santiago del Estero in the company of her uncle, identified as Ruben Avila, on 23rd February.

The family reported her disappearance to the authorities and launched social media campaigns to try to find the missing teen.

However, her body was found buried in a well that had been recently covered with concrete at Avila’s home on 15th April, according to local media.

Reports said that Avila has been placed under arrest and he has a criminal record for domestic violence.

Autopsy results confirmed the schoolgirl had been strangled to death and it is believed that she was killed around six weeks ago, around the same time as she was reported as missing, according to local media.

It is currently unclear whether the girl was sexually abused, and the authorities are reportedly still investigating the possibility.

Ruben Avila and another man, whose identity and involvement in the alleged crime have not been disclosed, have been arrested for Martinez’s death.

According to reports, the teen’s death has been the 14th case of femicide in Argentina since the COVID-19 lockdown began.

The investigation is ongoing.
