Model and Miss BumBum contestant Andressa Urach has revealed that she is returning to prostitution despite being pregnant after recently splitting with her hubby.
Urach, who boasts 2.6 million followers on Instagram, married Thiago Lopes in April before announcing their split last week.
The couple had revealed on 7th August when they were still together that they were expecting their first child.
After breaking up, the couple reportedly took down all images of themselves together on their socials.
Urach, who authored the 2015 book ‘I Died So I Could Live – My Underworld of Fame, Drugs and Prostitution’, shared a photo of herself posing in swimwear featuring the colours of the Brazilian flag on 29th September.
The snap went viral with over 106,000 ‘likes’, but mainly because of the accompanying message. The model wrote: “Warning: Imola has returned.”
According to local media, ‘Imola’ is the name she used when she worked as a prostitute.
She also tagged Gruta Azul, the name of an adult entertainment club in the city of Porto Alegre in the Brazilian state of Rio Grande do Sul, which is her home state.
When a reporter asked the model if she had indeed returned to prostitution, she is quoted as saying: “I don’t want to talk about it, but it’s the truth. I’m back, love.”
Her ex-partner claimed that her announcement means she has undergone an abortion. However, she shot back: “He thinks I got rid of the baby and wants to have me admitted to hospital, but I didn’t. I am just going back to work because I have bills to pay since he got me pregnant.”
“I wasn’t going to say anything, but he threatened me. I need to work. I have a kid and bills to pay!”
On 23rd September, she said she was hospitalised for eight days in a psychiatric facility treating her Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD), adding: “I’m still not ready to talk about everything that’s happening in my life because of BPD, but when I get well I’ll talk about it.”
On 29th September, Lopes wrote about his ex-partner’s apparent return to prostitution: “What kind of person in their right mind goes back to prostitution when they are pregnant?
“What kind of person goes back to smoking in the middle of pregnancy? I’m praying and fasting for my child’s life.”
He also denied that he was the one who left the family home, saying: “I didn’t leave home. I’m here managing and supporting the house as I’ve always done. Nothing has ever been lacking and nothing ever will be. We live in abundance and I thank God for that. The one living away from home right now is Andressa. And everyone knows where she is.”
Urach became widely known in Brazil after she finished runner-up at the Miss BumBum pageant in 2012. She gained fame further afield after claiming she had had an affair with footie ace Cristiano Ronaldo the following year.
The model, who is said to be 14 weeks pregnant, said of Lopes: “He’s the one who’s out of control. I just want to work and move on.”
