This is the Hollywood-style moment a young mum manages to drag her two kids to safety seconds before the ground under her feet is swallowed up by a huge sinkhole caused by severe storms.

Heavy rainstorms have reportedly battered several regions in the Ukraine in recent days, particularly around the Carpathian Mountains where the videos were filmed.

The storms have caused landslides, damage to buildings and the flooding of numerous roads and transport links, according to reports.

In the footage, filmed near the city of Yaremche where the headquarters of the nearby Carpathian National Nature Park is situated, the young mother can be seen fleeing from an affected mountain area moments before the ground beneath her vanished.

Just as she leads her two children to safety, the path crumbles and tumbles into the gorge below.

One of her kids screams in shock as the land slips and a huge sinkhole is formed.

Another clip shows stunned residents looking at a partially collapsed road.

According to local media, over 50 Ukrainian localities have been affected by storms and flash floods, and three people have lost their lives.

Meanwhile, the Ukrainian Meteorological Centre has predicted that more bad weather and storms, caused by a cyclone passing over the country, will continue for the coming days, according to reports.

The weather conditions have led to the evacuation of hundreds of families in badly affected areas.
