MIRACLE PATIENT: Woman Who Docs Thought Would Die Returns Home To Arkansas After Battling COVID For Over A Year

A woman who doctors thought would not survive has returned home to Arkansas after battling COVID-19 and being on a ventilator for over a year.

Diana Pease, 55, has reportedly been dubbed the “miracle patient” after surviving COVID-19 at a facility in the US state of Illinois.

She reportedly returned home to the city of Van Buren, in the US state of Arkansas, on Saturday, 22nd October.

The 55-year-old reportedly drove back from Illinois to Arkansas, where she was greeted by her friends, neighbours and loved ones at a party at their apartment building.

Pease, who reportedly still has trouble breathing due to scar tissue, said: “That was awesome. It was amazing, it made me cry.”

Her husband, named as Jim in local media, said: “She had a big support group and I appreciate every one of them.”

There have so far been a total of over 97 million cases of COVID-19 in the United States since the beginning of the outbreak, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the national public health agency of the United States.

There have been over 628 million cases of COVID-19 worldwide since the beginning of the pandemic, with a total number of over 6.58 million deaths.
