Mexican Couple Throws Baby Shower For Pregnant Horse They Dressed In Pink

These bizarre photos show a pregnant horse dolled up in pink by its owners to celebrate its baby shower.

The unusual event took place in an unspecified location in the Mexican state of Yucatan and the snaps were posted to Facebook by the expectant mare’s co-owner Erika Couoh on Monday, 11th October.

In the post that has since received 71,000 reactions, Erika wrote: “I know you’re not human, but I love you as if you were.

“You’re our daughter and I know there’ll be people who’ll tell me I’m crazy for throwing a baby shower for you, but I don’t care because I know you enjoyed it as much as we did.

“Because your eyes don’t lie, and I bet that if you could talk, you would tell me how happy you are and were today.

“I just ask God to bless you and to help you in your birth, beautiful. You are a very special and clever little animal because every time you feel something, you express it.

“If you’re sad, you cry. If you’re happy, your eyes glisten. And if you feel unwell, I see you lying down.

“Thanks for giving us the happiness of being grandparents. You’re very important in our lives, Camila.”

Photos show how Erika and her partner, Cesar Tepal, threw an elaborate bash for the mare, dressing it up in a pink tiara and other accessories.

They also set up a table with decorations including pink and blue balloons, and even served a cake displaying a likeness of a horse and a message reading ‘Congratulations’ in icing.

Other family members also attended the bash and posed for photos with the expectant mare.

Facebook user Claudia Angelica Ospina Ramirez commented: “Congratulations! What joy to see there are people who truly love animals. God bless you.”
