This is the moment a large metal sheet is blown off the top of a lorry trailer and flies into an Audi coming on the other way on a motorway.

It was captured on the Audi’s dashcam and shows the vehicle travelling in the fast lane of the Jincheng-Jiyuan Expressway in Central China’s Henan Province when the freak accident happened on the morning of 24th October.

In the video, the driver of the black Audi, which was part of a wedding motorcade, is unable to react in time as the metal sheet is ripped off the heavy goods vehicle and flies into the road ahead.

The Audi crashes into the sheet and luckily comes out the other side in one piece, sustaining paint scratches on its bonnet and roof.

Lorry driver Mr Cao told Jincheng traffic police he was hauling a shipment of natural gas in his heavy goods vehicle.

He recalled hearing a loud noise and looking out his rear-view mirror to see the metal sheet flying towards the opposite side of the motorway

The sheet which had been covering the top of his cargo trailer landed on the central reservation and hit the black Audi approaching from the opposite direction.

Mr Cao said he stopped on the hard shoulder to check on the Audi occupants, who were fortunately not harmed.

The authorities said the metal sheet had been blown off by the wind, but Mr Cao would still bear full responsibility for the accident as the vehicle’s owner.
